This Southern Masked Weaver, male was building a nest in Acacia tree in our garden in start of a breeding season. I watched days as this male worked relentlessly building the nest, grass blade by blade, carefully constructed and woven.... When he was happy with the result, he perched on the branch and fanning his wings and singing proudly,- calling females to inspect his hard work. But it didn't pay off this time, the females who came to inspect were either too demanding or maybe the nest constructor was still too much of an amateur...who knows.... but the nest was left to dry in the wind, dangling empty from the thorny branch.... as the male flew off to build another one, somewhere .... I hope his relentless hard work eventually paid off #facinating #wonderfulnature #LoveNaturePhIX #wildwanderers #birding #weaver #naturephotography #birdphotography #southafrica #birdwatching #nesting #natureswonder #singasong #lovenature #habitat #savethenature #didyouknow #instabird #birdsofsouthafrica @birdsofsouthafrica @birds._.mylover
